The "g" key on my laptop is currently sticking, which means that if I'm not careful I'm signing my emails as either "Me" or "Mean". A secret message from my computer? Possibly. I wonder if I can just pry off the keys and figure out what's in there to be causing this problem. It's been moving around to different letters...

I just asked Lara if she thought she'd be staying with us next year. Apparently, even though she has a job lined up, she doesn't where she'll be working or how much she'll be making. Therefore, no way of telling whether she'll have to move. Seems like a good system to me... I certainly hope that we get to keep her.

And then there's the pope thing... I view the new guy as a temporary solution until the church decides what it really wants. Avoiding all of the commentary regarding his conservatism and his past, I'll just say that my primary disappointment is just that no one could be as adorable as JPII. That said, this guy is just a little frightening. I harbor a secret joy at the fact that he's German, but fear that he'll add to the perception of Germans as being evil. Bryce suggested the bumper sticker "My other pope was JPII", whereas I was thinking "My pope's cuter than yours." Of course, when I brought all of this up to Aunt Mary she started talking about all of the popes she's known in her life. That seems odd to me, because the dynamic, adorable little Polak is the only pope I've ever had. I simply can't fathom that there's a possible replacement for him.

It's funny how I care this much about a church I've given up on, and also how can still feel so Catholic and so agnostic at the same time...
