Additional random post from New Jersey:
Through no fault of my own I have lost weight over the past year and a half. This has led to enough comments regarding how good I look that I suspect they're given more as a matter of course than out of any truthfulness. For the record though, I have dropped two pant sizes since graduating college, so while still far from my high school weight, I am a little closer to the number on my drivers' license.
The specific comment I got last night (which was reinforced this morning by some one else) was that the longer I'm away from California, the better I look. I chalk most of this up to the fact that I'm much happier here than I was during my year in WeHo. My job's better, I'm in school, and I have more of a social life. Oddly enough, money's also not quite as tight. However, it makes me wonder just how bad I looked while I was living in LA. As far as I can tell, there's been a little weightloss, and my hair has finally recovered from the mangy dog cut I got in Germany. Beyond that, I don't see where much has changed. Is it really just attitude adjustment that's making this impression?
Or maybe I should learn to take a compliment.
