This week I've found a reason to love New Jersey. I'd already grown fond of having some one else pump my gas, and the area where I live when I'm there is beautiful, not to mention the wonderful people I know there, but there's something else. I went on a shopping binge Wednesday that had me feeling typically guilty. I had enough bags when I left the mall that I was afraid to tally up the damage. Now, it turns out that on top of the 40-50% off sales I had hit, the Garden State does not tax clothing sales. Given that I'm used to assuming an 8% sales tax on everything, this meant that there was a nice cushion between what I thought I'd spent and what I actually had spent. Thank you, New Jersey. You've made this left coast girl quite happy.

On an additional shopping note, Kelly just realized that her new job is across the street from the Beverly Hills Loehmann's. I suppose that this is better than when my Aunt Vickie got a job at Nordstrom. Still, it'll be funny to see how well she restrains herself.
