My Birkenstocks have officially died. *tear* After nine years, I'm going to have to find some other sort of all-purpose-uber-comfy-love-them-to-pieces sandals. Damnit.

Yesterday afternoon Aunt Mary and I had the closest approximation to decent Mexican that I've found since leaving CA. Are you ready for the punchline? It was here. We had some yummy mole and a chocolate tamale. Add the Modelo, and it was a good lunch. The museum was rather massive without much to see, but at least the food was plentiful. Actually I'm considering making a food tour of the Smithsonians. I know that the gelato's scrumptious, and the NGA makes a good curry chicken salad, but what else is there hiding on the Mall?

Aunt Mary has also just used my birthday gift to earn the love of my roommates. She bought me a vacuum. Sonali squealed when she saw it. Of course, getting it involved Target hopping through Alexandria, but that's fine by me.=)

I am truly sad for your birkenstocks. I feel the same way about my Naot. They have orthopedic soles just like 'stocks and have a million different styles. They're comfy, they last forever, and they're Israeli (which for me is a plus, but not everyone feels the same). You can find them online by googling "naot shoes". They're awesome!!!
Oh, and congrats on the dancing shoes. Bryce worked hard to find those. Trust me. I know.
I hope you dance enough to wear them out even faster than you did the birkenstocks.
I CANNOT wait for us to finally meet in person and go dancing together!!! Yay!
