Bryce mentioned on the phone last night that he hates it when people celebrate Halloween on the Saturday before it falls. I pointed out to him that I would not have been able to celebrate properly today, so Saturday suited me just fine. This naturally led to an argument on the merits of pushing through the pain of staying out all night partying and then going to work the next morning. The Bloody Mary costume went over remarkably well, as did the quantity of alcohol being carried on my person. Wilson even managed to snack on my hat, so I was highly functional. I'm also giving him praise for having the cajones to carry through with his costume.

Of course, one of the greatest parts of the evening was the next morning. I crashed in Eastern Market, and went for coffee there in costume before heading home. That got some great looks. The city and the metro were full of the normal, family-oriented Sunday morning crowd in addition to people following the Marine Corps Marathon, so I stuck out nicely in my bright red cape. I suppose that I could have borrowed a sweatshirt or something from Jenny to wear home, but however things balanced, I was going to have the option of looking trashy in a mini-skirt and high boots, or making it perfectly obvious that I was in costume. I opted for comedy rather than shame.

Another product of this weekend is the deepening of our resolve to go to Argentina. I know that I can make it work, but I'm just not sure if I should. At the moment I'm going to operate on the assumption that I'll kick myself if I don't go. In the meantime it's likely more important to plan out Europe. We're looking at Budapest, which could be awesome. Transylvania is probably just too far. *tear* Of course, Italy would be warmer, but it would also be more expensive. Or perhaps I'll talk Bryce out of his fear that they eat people in Bratislava. Chances don't look good though.
