Last weekend I decided to procrastinate by cleaning my room. This led to clearing out my drawers and produced 4 outlet mall sized shopping bags full of clothing to give away. It was nice to chuck in some of the pants from when I moved out here. I don't know how I got that large, but then I also don't know how I went down two sizes either. We'll chalk it up to misery equaling weight gain and happiness equaling weight loss. At least that seems to be my pattern. Maybe if I become sublimely happy I'll be able to fit my tall sturdy frame into a size considered normal, but I'm fine with where I am at the moment, and something tells me that these hips just aren't going away.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, once I'd assembled my Good Will pile I figured I'd offer my delivery services to others as well, and started a mini-clothing drive. After making several stops around DC over the past several nights, I'm not entirely certain that there's going to be room left in my car for the bags currently sitting in my living room. It seems that everyone's got a massive give away pile, but no time/motivation/transportation to get them to Good Will. What this brings to mind is that perhaps one could start a currier service to pick up random donations. Of course, that might get to be like the charities that would drop big plastic bags on your porch and then come by a week later with a truck to load up whatever you in there and left on the curb. OK, so maybe I'm not an innovator, but I'm trying.
