When I first saw that LAist was doing a regular bit on 1001 Reasons LA is Better Than Florida, I was entertained. I've joked about it a few times, and even mentioned here my own unjustified and largely comical disdain for the Sunshine State, but honestly didn't expect anyone else to share the sentiment. I shouldn't be too surprised, given one of my favorite points to bring up when explaining this issue to the uninitiated, but since I really don't know that much about our southern extremity, was still kind of surprised.
However, at this point I'm mainly just entertained that they've managed to keep it going since the first of the year. They're a little over 10% through the list. While not keeping up with the promise 3-5 items per day, they're certainly on track to reach their goal in a little under two years. While it's probably a bit overly optimistic to expect a site combining two fundamentally flaky forces (blogging and LA) to focus for quite that long, it's really not bad, and they're making exceptional progress.
The chances of completion would skyrocket were this guy to get involved. He's got the attention span and dedication to make it happen.

True, I'm all about LA, but not to the put-down of another community or state! Thanks for the compliment, though.
