Though I wouldn't be much a fan of seeing loincloths walking around, I have to side with the young men in this story. So much in the article smacks of a sense that anything coming from Africa is inherently inferior, which is no way to go about development. The comments are interesting, and I enjoyed the picture they paint of westernized urban dwellers as opposed to traditional rural inhabitants. What I saw as the most striking figure to come out though, were the expats. They seem far more attached to the validity and worth of local culture than those still living in it.
