As difficult as my relationship with my sister can be, I'll have to admit that she's a sweet and thoughtful person, far less cynical than I. She knew that I was upset about having to get a Virginia drivers license, and had heard my snarking disappointment at the fact that the east coast doesn't do leis for graduation. So what did she do? She went online and ordered me a lei, which has just been delivered to my apartment. It's pretty much identical to the one I had for undergrad, not a surprise since they seem to pretty much always be made of purple of orchids unless they contain money and/or candy. I love it, and will now require more graduation photos to showcase it.
