Meaningless discovery for the morning:

The Harry Potter books are significantly longer auf Deutsch als auf Englisch. I'm currently on book four which is 32 pages longer, but the one that takes the cake is book five. Ordnen des Phoenix comes in at 150 pages longer than Order of the Phoenix.

New fodder for making fun of my friends:

My dinner circle is about to have it's third event. For the second time, I was not copied on the original Evite. Now, I know I've forgotten to invite people to events in the past, but I generally have a sufficient handle on who's coming, and who should be there, that I figure it out at some point. The glory here is that since the theme is "Jewish" I can make German jokes. Luckily, it's been well established that I'm a fan of the language and that I'm not an anti-Semite, so I can get away with this. However, I'm sooooooooo bringing pork. Bryce has suggested that I bring "deutschland ubersalsas." That would unfortunately bring me to the nastiness that was my attempt at Mexican food in Germany. It's not an experience I want to relive.
