What worries me about tonight's breakup is not how much it hurts, but how upset I am at being single. I thought that was a fear I'd gotten past several years ago. I haven't been able to decipher yet how much of the emotion is tied up with the boy and how much is related entirely to being alone again. Either way, I just hope that it goes away soon.

I think that we don't admit it, but being single again is always the hardest part. My 2 relationships ended in my getting dumped. And I knew they were both doomed from the start, and never really felt "in love". But the shock of the rejection along with having to get used to being single again made them UNBEARABLE.
Wish I were there to take you out on the town!
Actually, the singledom thing isn't the hardest part at all. Fear of being single is no reason to be in a relationship. I did get over that a while ago.
boy was kind of a sissy. i know, i am an intimidating mo-fo, but it's not like i was going to bite... hard. just kidding, that's unsanitary; i was going to stab him... hard.
being single is always superior to what i call "being not single".
you can spend your money however you like, you can live in filth and know you are just "not wasting time on primping", you can fart at the grocery store, play katamari damacy from the second you get home from work until you leave for the pond, stay out at the pond until 0230 because blue laws don't apply to free drinks after the doors are locked, have tacos and orange bang until 0400, talk loudly about the girl at the cash register's junk in the trunk and ass-antlers completely forgetting that you are now in a quiet taco stand and not a loud bar and she is completely sober, back your car into a fire hydrant (and everyone thinks it's hysterical except that one friend who's "the anctious drunk"), and not have to ignore a single cell phone call all night.
all in all babe, good on ya.
for some strange reason, my dear bryce, i cannot picture meg doing ANY of the things mentioned in your little rant...
although i've never met the gal in person, so honestly, it's all just speculation.
