Been too busy to really keep up with this, sorry. So what's been up since last I checked in?

I've spent the last two days on a client training in downtown LA that went very well despite technical difficulties. I'm gaining confidence in what I can do and how to best deal with people. This has been quite the valuable experience. It may have kept me in the office late on Friday and part of Sunday, but it did get me home early today and yesterday, which is nice.

I've finally got a place to live in DC, or Virginia more accurately. I'll be living in a sun room, but I won't be paying extortionary rent, so I guess things even out. Details to follow regarding my move.=)

I spent a good chunk of this weekend with Christian Dave. It was nice remembering why we were friends in the first place. Rather than wanting to pummel him like usual, I had a great time. I drove up to Santa Barbara early Saturday and we hung out on state street, went to the wharf, saw a movie, and had a generally good time. He came back here and we went to dinner and he stayed the night. That becomes important to the funny part of the story. The next day I ended up being invited along to his family's Fathers' Day lunch in Santa Monica. That's right, I barely even spoke to my own father, but was taken out to lunch by his. The whole family was fun and gracious. I wish I'd known his sister sooner. We could have hung out.

Anyway, Dave himself was fun and things were nice and relaxed. It reminded me of why last year's drama happened in the first place. He is a nice guy, and we get along rather well. Sometimes I think that he's my foil, sometimes I think that we're too much alike. Either way I'm glad that I had this weekend to make me feel better about keeping in touch with him once I move.

The concern now is packing. As part of that, there are plentiful roommate activities planned. Kelly even let me drag her to look for jeans, which is never a fun shopping trip. Maybe some day scientists will find some measurement for classifying the size of my thighs in relationship to the standard clothing available, ad there will then be a system for finding decent slacks, but for the meantime, I'm stuck with the Gap. I think that our last weekend in this apartment is going to be marked by the consumption of squash...yum.=) Anyone who reads this, knows where I live, and is interested, is more than welcome to join in the festivities. I'm guessing that this number will be equal to zero.

And finally, I would like to mark the passing of the Audrey Hepburn handbag. She was a loyal friend, and will be missed dearly.
